Fashionstyleology London Street Fashion Book Launch

Fashionstyleologer: London Street Fashion, the fashion book of the season is out and I'm in it. Yasss!  I attended the book launch last week and it was lovely meeting the amazing people who took part  in  the project. It was a display of London's finest street style photos at Gallery DIFFERENT, showcasing 50 exclusive photographers and 200 street fashionistas. The place was packed with bloggers, stylists, photographers, and fashion aficionados who were thrilled to see the book unveiled. It was a fashion night out! Cocktails were served while people revel in the exhibit of street style portraits hanging on the wall. Well done fashionstyleology.com, a successful event indeed! Don't forget to get a copy of the book and be inspired by the eclectic collection of London street style photos.

Discovering East London

I live in East London but I never really ventured out to the artsy and fashionable places like Brick Lane and Spitalfields Market. Kisty of kisty.net was my partner in crime last Sunday. She's a Singapore based blogger who won a trip to England through her blog. Isn't that awesome! Anyway, I was supposed to show her around London but we ended up discovering East London together. Well it's only been a few months since I moved down here from Birmingham. I usually go to Dalston, quite a trendy place and they say it's the up and coming area. It is also a great place to hunt for vintage bargains. Indeed, East London has a lot in store for the fashionistas. 

We started out at the Old Spitalfields Market. It is a popular food, fashion, crafts, vintage and general market, which was very vibrant on a Sunday. There is so much to see and buy, such enticing goodies everywhere. Unfortunately taking photos of the merchandise was not allowed. Every time I attempt to take a picture, I get a violent look from the salesperson. I find it strange why they don't allow it. However, I still managed a few sneaky shots. 

Finally, my pursuit of new sunnies is over. For over a week now, I have been searching for the perfect summer sunglasses. My Ralph Lauren has served me good, its about time to have variety. That's exactly what I love about my new Festival Specs sunnies. Such a great find at Spitalfields market for only £20. It comes with six pairs of differently coloured interchangeable lenses. Isn't that just awesome!? It's like having six sunnies or you can mix the lenses whichever suits you. Very stylish with the 70s inspired round shape lenses. It also has a cool case, definitely the perfect summer kit. 

After a bit of shopping, we wandered aimlessly to Brick Lane. It may look a bit rough and grungy but you cannot deny the overwhelming spread of creativity and inspiration in the area. There is so much going on. Cool street art, music, food, pubs, vintage shops, and a street market where you can find almost anything. People are also very fashionable, a great venue for street style photography.

What Kisty is wearing: Primark tights and jumper, Cotton On shorts, Topshop leather Jacket, and Converse platform shoes.

The East End is definitely a place worth exploring. It is rich in culture and brimming with inspiration. A neighbourhood where art, music, and fashion unfold. Hop on the next tube to Liverpool St Station, wander around, discover and experience it for yourself.

Brighton Weekend!

It's always nice going to the beach with good friends enjoying the sun and the lovely seaside scenery. Brighton is just excellent for that purpose. It is a fun place with so much to offer. An exciting get away spot that I'd love to visit again.

Don't let the blue sky fool you. The weather was almost perfect last Saturday except for the chilly wind that made me regret not bringing a jacket. I was too excited to wear shorts to even bother checking the weather forecast that day. Not only was I cold, but I was also a zombie that day. I didn't get much sleep the night before. Thank God to whoever invented sunglasses! I kept them on all day to hide my tired eyes. Oh well, lesson learned! I still managed to have a great time after all.

Shorts season has finally dawned upon us. I'm always thrilled when the weather is awesome and I can wear shorts. In the Philippines you can wear them all year round, and flip flops too. If only the weather was more reliable here in the UK... 

I'm sporting prints and some colour, definitely a wardrobe staple this summer. The printed shirt is a girl's top. I saw it in the shop and instantly fall in love with the prints. Such a visual delight especially when you're out and having your pictures taken. By the way, I support the idea of a shared wardrobe. Also advocated by designer JW Anderson in most of his collections.

My Vogue Festival Look

A bit late for this but thought I'd still blog about it. This is what I wore during the Vogue festival at the Southbank Centre in London last April. The weather wasn't at its best so I decided a splash of colour would be perfect to brighten up my day. Being a new fashion blogger and all, it confirms that you are doing the right thing and it inspires you to do better. I've also been lucky that another fashion website took notice of my instagram photos and they asked me to be part of their coffee table book project. We already finished the photoshoot a month ago, but I can't upload it yet until the book is published in July. I will be posting updates soon. My Military Fetish

I was at the monthly Stylist's Rail wardrobe sale at Dalston and look what I found. A camo Jacket which is quite a trend at the moment. Style it up with some badges and maybe a dog tag necklace to match. A casual yet stylish item to have, perfect for this hot/cold British summer weather. And for only £5 it was indeed a great find. London Naked Bike Ride 2013

Another fun weekend in London. It's one of them Saturdays where the streets of London are crowded with naked bike riders. I've always wanted to witness this event, finally this year I did and I'm overdressed. hah! I was gonna get naked on a Boris Bike but thats just... Eiw!

Last Friday Night - Street Style

I was digging into my closet and look what I found... I'm still in love with the pieces I got from the Versace for H&M collection. With the weather getting a bit better, why not go out in London with a splash of monochrome jeans and printed top?! I'm such a fan of mixing prints and colours. Oh I just love being graphic! Vintage Street Style

Monday night was a vintage themed gig at the 12 Bar Club in Soho. I was out with my friends Edward and Sean on a night of chilled out drinking and live music by local bands. Sean was the lead vocals in one of them groups.

Edward's look according to him is vintage with a twist. Its Vivienne Westwood written all over it and I'm loving the punk-ish vibe to it. The suit was tailored by Edward himself, glasses from Tom Ford, and everything else is VW.

Vogue Festival 2013

April 27-28, 2013 was a weekend of Vogue-ness in London. Fashion lovers gathered at the Southbank Centre to enjoy the exciting line up of activities such as hair and make up sessions, pseudo-Vogue cover photo shoots, and a Vogue shop with loads of enticing merchandise. Throughout the day, talks were held and given by various fashion professionals from Vogue and the fashion industry. It was indeed the weekend every fashion aficionado was looking forward to...
